Bareilly DM Reviews District Skill Development Committee, Focus on Job-Oriented Training

Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a review meeting of the District Skill Development Committee associated with the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at the Collectorate auditorium.

During the meeting, officials held a detailed discussion on the sectors currently being operated in the district and the employment and self-employment opportunities generated through the training programmes so far. Proposals were also placed before the committee for allocating targets in sectors with high employment potential during the financial year 2026-27.

The proposed sectors included healthcare, retail, food processing, green jobs, furniture and fittings, beauty and wellness, and telecommunications. The DC of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) proposed targets for the electrician sector, while the District Assistant Labour Commissioner suggested targets for plumbing.

The Chief Development Officer proposed inclusion of the IT and IT-enabled services sector. The District Magistrate approved the proposals and directed officials to include masonry training as well. He stressed the need to ensure that trained youth in trades such as plumbing, masonry and electrical work are registered on platforms where members of the public can easily contact them for services.

Singh also directed officials to undertake extensive publicity of such platforms so that trained workers can access employment opportunities and residents can easily find skilled service providers. He further instructed officials to ensure that the benefits of all ongoing government schemes reach the general public without exception. Chief Development Officer Devyani, the DC of NRLM, District Assistant Labour Commissioner and other concerned officials attended the meeting. Reported from Bareilly by Akhilesh Chandra Saxena
